The 2025 Frant Verstrate Research Grant was awarded to an outstanding project that addressed a critical yet often overlooked area of equine health. The project has the potential to significantly improve the welfare of equine patients, by enabling earlier and more accurate pain detection:  “Behavioural indicators of oral pain in horses: Development of an equine dental ethogram.” by Dr Amelia Sidwell.
