Astrid studied Veterinary Medicine in Berlin and Hannover and graduated in 2000. After completing her doctoral thesis doctoral thesis she continued with a multi-disciplinary equine education, focusing more and more on soft tissue surgery, anaesthesia and dentistry. She joined the team at the Equine Hospital in Hannover in 2002 and became head of the Department of Equine Dentistry and Sinus Surgery. Astrid is a Diplomate of the European Veterinary Dental College (EVDC Equine) since 2013.
Her main research interests are clinical investigations on EOTRH, improvement of equine sedation and analgesia during oral and sinus surgery, as well as microbiological studies on different sinus diseases.
However, her biggest passion remains teaching veterinary students and veterinarians in equine dentistry.
