Residency in Veterinary Dentistry
Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen is looking for a veterinarian to commence a standard fulltime (37 hours/week) European Veterinary Dental College (EVDC)  three-year residency training program in veterinary dentistry from  March 1st, 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Education and job description
The education will be performed in alignment with the European Veterinary Dental College (EVDC) guidelines. It is advised to read these guidelines prior to applying for the position. (www.evdc.org)

The training and work will consist of supervised clinical rotations and patient care within veterinary dentistry service and teaching and supervision of students. As part of the residency program the resident will spend time on clinically relevant research, communication of research as well as preparation for exams. The primary supervisor for the resident is Teaching Assistant Professor Hanne E. Kortegaard Dip.EVDC.

As part of the reorganisation of AzurVet's Dentistry department, we are opening a position for a veterinary surgeon in dentistry and oral surgery to work alongside Dr GIRARD, DipEVDC, a specialist in veterinary dentistry (NICE area, FRANCE).

The post will be filled by a veterinary surgeon registered to practise in France who is motivated, dynamic, rigorous and has what it takes to run the department. The aim of the post is to transfer responsibility over the next 2 years.

It is aimed at a specialist in veterinary dentistry, a graduate of the European College of Veterinary Dentistry, a resident of the European College of Veterinary Dentistry who is in the process of completing a programme or a veterinary surgeon who is already independent in veterinary dentistry and interested in an educational programme in the process of specialising.

The role will involve taking charge of and monitoring animals, liaising with owners as well as referring vets and assisting Dr GIRARD in the operating theatre.

Prerequisites:

  • Diploma from the European College of Veterinary Dentistry
  • Resident of the European College of Veterinary Dentistry
  • Former surgery or internal medicine assistant, with additional experience in dentistry and maxillofacial surgery

Salary:

  • Collective agreement

Number of days per year: 184 days

Cape Animal Dentistry Service, in Cape Town, is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to commence a Veterinary Dentistry Alternate Residency program. The program will commence at our EVDC Registered Specialist Centre as soon as it is approved by the European Veterinary Dental College. Application to the EVDC will be made as soon as a candidate is appointed - the appointment will however be confirmed subject to program approval. 

 

The successful candidate will undergo training under the supervision of Drs Cedric Tutt and Roxanne Emslie and the program will be of approximately 5 years duration.

 

The successful candidate will need to be registered with the South African Veterinary Council, to undertake the reesidency.
